A delegation from Universidad del CEMA (UCEMA), in partnership with ICBC(Industrial and Commercial Bank of China),undertook a high level academic and corporate mission across China, combining executive education with direct engagement with leading companies, institutions, and innovation hubs throughout the country.

Founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina, UCEMA is recognized for its strong academic standards, close ties with the private sector, and international outlook. Its MBA program is accredited by AMBA, and the university maintains a growing network of partnerships and initiatives linking Latin America with key global economic actors.

The 14-day program, taking place from May 14 to 28, 2026, spans four of China’s most influential cities — Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing — offering participants a first-hand understanding of the country’s leadership in finance, technology, logistics, manufacturing, and global business strategy.

Unlike a traditional academic tour, the delegation brings together executives, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and senior professionals with decision-making responsibilities, positioning the mission beyond a traditional academic exchange. The initiative is designed not only to deepen academic knowledge, but also to foster institutional relationships, business networking, and practical insights into Asian markets and business models.

In Beijing, The delegation visited major institutions and companies, including Baidu, one of China’s leading artificial intelligence and technology firms; the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE); and the headquarters of ICBC, one of the world’s largest financial institutions. The agenda also includes an institutional meeting at the Argentine Embassy in China, reinforcing the growing connection between Argentina and China in education, business, and investment.

Earlier stages of the program focused on Hong Kong’s role as a global financial center and Shenzhen’s position as one of the world’s leading innovation hubs. In Shenzhen, the delegation engaged with companies such as BYD, Tencent, DJI, and Huawei, gaining insight into electric mobility, digital ecosystems, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and next-generation manufacturing.

In Shanghai, participants explored China’s global logistics capabilities through technical visits related to supply chains, port infrastructure, and international trade platforms, including the Port of Shanghai, the world’s largest automated port. The experience provided insight into how logistics infrastructure, digital systems, and global trade operations are increasingly interconnected in modern commerce.

The mission also highlights UCEMA’s commitment to strengthening its international positioning and its relationship with the corporate sector through applied global learning experiences. The participation of Alejandra Falco, Director of the UCEMA MBA, reinforces the initiative’s connection with graduate business education and executive leadership development.

Within this framework, UCEMA is also launching a new MBA course led by Professor Ignacio Ortiz Vila, focused on China, Asia, innovation, international business, and corporate strategy. The course aims to incorporate the study of global economic transformation into the education of future business leaders and reflects UCEMA’s broader vision of internationally connected executive education.

Through this mission with ICBC, UCEMA continues to build bridges between academia, business, and international institutions, reinforcing its role as a platform for globally connected and practice-oriented education.
