The nation's first pet terminal building is set to commence operations at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, opening to the public in May.

Located on the first-floor area outside the P3 parking lot directly opposite Gate 29 of Terminal 1, the facility spans a total construction area of 2,000 square meters, providing an exclusive space for traveling with pets.

This terminal building is designed as a one-stop platform for pet travel, integrating services such as pet transportation, pet check-in, pet hotels, and quarantine ticket booking assistance. Currently undergoing internal trial operations, the on-site design is charming, and the environment is clean.

Upon becoming operational, travelers will be able to make reservations through the WeChat Mini Program platform. The terminal building will facilitate online ticket bookings, cabin reservations, quarantine procedures, and additional protocols for pet transportation, tailored according to the pet's type and destination. This enhancement is expected to reduce processing time from the previous duration of seven days to as fast as two days.

Furthermore, the facility offers a range of thoughtful services. It will provide regular domestic flight pet travel services and dedicated check-in counters. Additionally, there will be a VIP lounge for pet owners equipped with various service facilities, themed cat rooms, individual dog rooms, and smart pet cabins.

Airport surveys have revealed that 25 percent of air travelers own pets, far exceeding the national average.
