Last Friday, coinciding with the solar term Beginning of Winter, Wanda Hotels & Resorts inaugurated the fifth season of its acclaimed culinary program, The Culinary Art of Guizhou Cuisine, at Wanda Jin Beijing Dongba Hotel.
The 2025-2026 edition continues the brand's mission to celebrate and modernize the heritage of Guizhou's sour soup cuisine.
Since 2021, Wanda Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Wu Duqin, inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage "Kaili Sour Soup Fish Making Technique" to present the nationwide campaign "The Culinary Art of Guizhou Cuisine". Over the years, the initiative has elevated Miao sour soup from a regional specialty to a celebrated symbol of Chinese culinary culture, resonating with diners across the country.

This season builds on that success with a deeper focus on the fusion of culture and cuisine. Through immersive dining settings, interactive experiences, and joint promotions across Wanda hotels nationwide, the program aims to reinterpret traditional delicacy in the context of contemporary dining and hospitality.
The launch dinner opened to the sound of ringing gongs, marking the ceremonial start of the feast. Guests enjoyed a hotpot uniting the tangy notes of Miao sour soup with the hearty richness of old Beijing flavors, alongside creative dishes such as sour soup sea cucumber, inspired by the centuries-old craft of Guizhou's culinary artisans.
